USAID
Since 1992, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission to Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus has been working to assist the region in its transition to a broadbased, market-oriented democracy. While each of these countries' developmental challenges are unique, the Mission's programs are broadly focused on the areas of democracy and governance, economic growth, and social assistance.

unicef

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) works to help children survive and thrive from early childhood through adolescence. We work with families, local communities, partners and governments in 191 countries to protect children’s rights, help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.
UNICEF is the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realised. We work to make sure that children all over the world have access to education and health care and are protected from abuse and exploitation. UNICEF is funded by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations and governments.
In Ukraine UNICEF opened its office in 1997. Since then we have been working with the Government of Ukraine and partner organizations to improve the lives of children and families in country. In particular to adress child health and development challenges, we help Ukrainian children to get a good start in life by educating parents and health workers and by making maternity wards in hospitals more family friendly. UNICEF advocates for universal salt iodization to prevent mental retardation resulting from a diet low in iodine. We promote immunisation against childhood diseases and exclusive breastfeeding for newborns during their first six months of life while advocating for regulating the marketing of breast milk substitutes and other potentially harmful products.
